Objective - Provides a broad foundation for understanding the role of media in human culture and society.
- Provide a framework for understanding the role of mediated communication in everyday interactions by giving students a close look at the wide range of social, cultural, economic, and political issues associated with mass communication.
- Students will examine the evolution of print and electronic media,the informative, persuasive and entertainment functions of mass media, and the legal, political and ethical implications of mass communication system and practices.
- Provide a contemporary overview of mass media systems and an examination of the various factors that have shaped their development.
- Provide students with a combination of strategic and tactical knowledge of communication.
