STIC Dean calls on the Chief of Ongkharak District Offices

Ajarn Prakai Cholahan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, St Teresa International University(STIC)  was accompanied by Ajarn Boon Nakhapakorn, a lecturer  of the Faculty of Humanities and Mr Phitsanu Thepthong of the STIC President‘s Office .They met with Mr Chaiwat Iam-la-or, the Assistant Chief of the Ongkharak District Offices.

On August 20, 2014, they discussed further how to have bilateral cooperation to organize joint activities in the district. These activities by both organizations are aimed at servicing the society and people in business related areas of interest such as learning English or general knowledge in business especially in relations to SME.

“We come to visit here and would like to learn more about the special projects by which we can fully support.  We have both Thai and foreign teachers and also students who could help teach English to the community,” Dean Prakai informed the Assistant Chief Officer Chaiwat.  

Dean Prakai added that in response to the policy of Office of Higher Education Commission (OHEC), the College students should join with community members to do some joint activities for the benefit of the society. 

Meanwhile,   Mr.  Chaiwat noted that there were some STIC students who earlier used to come to do volunteer work with the community members and villagers.  Mr Chaiwat remarked that the District faces many big problems such as the floods in the rainy season, drug abuse, low prices of vegetables and etc.

“ We, the district and provincial authorities  are prepared to go out to help relive the plight of the people at Wat Photaen , where about 50 mobile relief units  will  help present  relieve kits,   products and services to those people who suffered from the natural disasters, like  floods,  drought and the low prices of harvest, 

He added “Actually, we would  need  some development and improvement plans for  English language and communication,  business administration, public health  areas that would help  respond to the upcoming Asean  Economic  Community  integration next year,

“We are keen to invite kamnan or village headmen and community members to learn more English through listening and speaking. However there are many things that could be chosen for the future joint activity projects,” Assistant Chief Chaiwat concluded.
