Alice in NPS Contestland

January 26, 2020   |   admin   |   Faculty of Humanities & Social Science News, Spotlight News, Success Stories,

26th January is the day that I participated in the National Speech Contest as the representative of St.Theresa International College. I was chosen by the college to participate in this contest. At first, I was a bit nervous as this is my first time to join a Prepared Speech contest. I usually join Impromptu speech. As the day came, Aj. Leo, my coach, accompanied me to the event’s venue in Bangkok. He helped me a lot with perfecting the delivery of my speech – like the way I should speak or how I should act when I give a speech. When we arrived, there were lots of students waiting to deliver their speech. I was contestant no. 13. I was so nervous but when I was called to deliver my speech I thought to myself that I have already done my best and I won’t regret anything. Sadly, it turned out that I didn’t make it to the top 16 semifinalists, but that’s ok! The other qualifiers are all deserving. I didn’t feel bad at all. Although I didn’t pass, I definitely did my best. If I still have a chance for next year’s contest, I’ll practice harder and try to be one of the winners.

Thank you STIC for the fruitful experience!
