    HuSo’s Post-Orientation @GM

March 3, 2021   |   admin   |   Faculty of Humanities & Social Science News, Spotlight News,

Last Wednesday March 3, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences had an online post orientation planned and designed for the graduating students majoring in Business English and Communication Arts. The meeting was about how the graduating students secured a job while they’re still studying here at St. Theresa International College. Moreover, tips on how they can study effectively and knowledge that they acquired as they have been learning from at STIC for 4 years were shared. Two alumni were invited to share their experiences. One of them was P’ Ann who was a B.E. graduate. She said that she got much knowledge and became familiar with many accents when studying in our college. She can communicate effectively because of that. She gave us interviewing tips like what questions are usually asked and how to impress the interviewers. She advised us to be polite at all times when we converse with other people by using “could” and “would” instead of can and will. For example, “Could you please….?” “Would you be able to do…..?” etc. She shared that she had a chance to do her internship at Belgium’s embassy and had a wonderful time there. She mentioned that she often changes her job every 3 years to travel and to learn new things from new places. In addition, it is also to challenge herself to be a better person and to be able to adjust herself with everyone in diverse situations.

The post-orientation was attended by the faculty dean, vice-dean, CA and BE lecturers and students from different year levels. It was a rare chance but it gave all the Google Meet attendees worthy information.
