Quality Standards 3.3 Students Quality

Quality Standards 3.3                   Students Quality

Quality Standards Type                Outcome

Description

Instructors responsible for the curriculum/program of study must manage the curriculum according to the system and mechanism for student admission and student promotion and  student development to produce empirical results that can be seen from  student graduation within  scheduled time and students  works development.

The graduation of students  results  from  student development activities, curriculum or advisors counseling,  students complaints or suggestions handling  cause  students satisfaction to curriculum,  student retention and dropout rate,  and graduation rate.

Student works resulting  from  student development,  student activities,  learning opportunities creation and the development of students’ potential can effects  students  works that show student learning outcomes according to higher education standards : namely  learner person, co-creator and active citizen.

Curriculum management performance that showed the quality of students will be based on student works and student graduation rate.

Assessment Criteria for Indicator 3.3

Average score for indicator 3.3 is from the average score of 2 sub-indicators: 3.3.1 the student works and 3.3.2 student graduation rate. The average is a score between 0 – 5.

          3.3.1 Student Productivity (Work Pieces)(60% = 5 marks)

          Description

Student works/productivities result from the empirical student development that showed learners outcomes according to higher education standards, namely Learner Person, Co-Creator and Active Citizen.

Curriculum management performance that can reflect the quality of student will be considered from percentage of student works which Learner Person, Co-Creator and Active Citizen are shown in their works.

          Assessment Criteria

Convert the percentage of student works per total number of students in the curriculum graduates into a score of between 0 – 5;

define score 5 = 60% or higher.

Formula for Calculations

1. Calculate the percentage of the student works per total number of students in the curriculum.

Percentage of student works = (Amount number of student works in that assessed academic year / Total Number of students in the curriculum) x 100

2. Convert the percentage calculated in item 1 to a comparable score on a 5-point scale: Score = (Percentage of student works / 60) x 5

     Notes

     1) Every students works in the curriculum that can be counted in that academic year must demonstrate Learner outcomes characteristics: Learner Person, Co-Creator, and Active Citizen.

     2) The number of students in the curriculum used for calculation is the number that reports in the Self-Assessment Report, except death case and relocating the workplace of graduate students.

     3) More than one student can work together to produce one work, depending on difficulty of that work and student year level.

     4) Students works may demonstrate either any Learner Outcomes characteristics or many characteristic of Learner Outcomes: Learner Person, Co-Creator, and Active Citizen.

The student productivity is mainly based on the performance of the students under 3 criteria (Learner Person, Co-creator & Active Citizen)

3.3.2 Graduation Rate (60% = 5 marks)

     Description

Student graduation result from the quality of student counseling, student supporting, students complained or suggesting  handling.  These quality services offer to students lead to student good satisfaction toward curriculum, good retention rate, and less risk level of student dropout.

Curriculum management performance that can reflect the quality of management is the number of graduates who can graduate within time specified in the curriculum.

          Assessment Criteria

Convert the percentage of graduates per total number of final year students in the curriculum into a score of between 0 – 5; define score 5 = 60% or higher.

          Formula for Calculations

1. Calculate the percentage of the graduates per total number of final year students in the curriculum.

Percentage of graduates = ( umber of graduates  /  number  of final year students in the curriculum) x 100 = 100

2. Convert the percentage calculated in item 1 to a comparable score on a 5-point scale: Score = (  percentage of graduates / 60) x 5=

          Notes

          1) Number of students who have graduated calculated from the number of students who completed their studies according to the time specified in the curriculum.

          2) Number of final year students in the curriculum calculated from the number of final year students at that academic year according to the self-assessment report. Except death and relocating the workplace of graduate students.

3.3.1 Student Productivity

The Faculty of Education organized a Virtual Academic Productivity Showcase last October 6, 2021
from 15:00 onwards. The event was one of the Faculty’s knowledge management activities which highlighted
students’ outputs from different subject areas. It was an opportunity for the Faculty and students to share
perspectives, ideas, experiences, and best practices in Online-Teaching Learning. Congratulations!

There were 7 students out of 15 students who had productivity.

It was 7×100/15 = 46.67%

Calculate to 5 points scale (60%) = 46.67×5/60 = 3.89

3.3.2 Graduation Rate

1. Calculate the percentage of the graduates per total number of final year students in the curriculum.

Percentage of graduates =Percentage of graduates = (3 / 3 of final year students in the curriculum) x 100 = 100%

2. Convert the percentage calculated in item 1 to a comparable score on a 5-point scale: Score = (Percentage of graduates / 60) x 5

Convert the percentage calculated in item 1 to a comparable score on a 5-point scale: Score = (100 / 60) x 5= 8.33 =5
