    STEM-ED Career Day 2020

    The Nurse Assistant Course of the Faculty of Nursing at St Teresa International University is one area aligned with the ten S-Curve industries of the country, selected to join the STEM Career DAY, under the Career Academies of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for STEM Education (SEAMEO STEM-ED) and Chevron Thailand, with an aim to create educational opportunities for the youths to develop and become knowledgeable and skilled people, and to inspire their career in the future. The Faculty of Education also joined the activities and presented an exhibition of short courses in response to the country’s development, on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at Wat Mai Krongthong School under the Royal Patronage, moo 3, Si Maha Phot Sub-district, Si Maha Phot district, Prachinburi Province.

    Activities during the day

    More than 400 senior high school students, teachers and administrators from schools in the educational region, and non-formal education from Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi and Sa Kaeo Provinces registered for the activity. Mr. Woraphan Suwannus, Prachinburi Provincial Governor, gave the welcome speech. Dr. Kanokwan Wilawan, Deputy Minister of Education, President of the event, made the opening remarks and visited the exhibition booths. Students and teachers from various schools participated in the workshop activities throughout the day.

    The goals of this event were for students to have options for their further study or career advancement and to develop their knowledge and skills. They would receive a certificate recognized by many establishments. The teachers would be trained in STEM education for career and learned how to provide career guidance to their students. According to the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Education of the College, results of evaluation of the activities will be beneficial to educational management with an aim to create graduates with desirable attributes and career achievement, and to become a powerful force for the country development in the future.
