Study Visit to Sriracha Aviation Co. Ltd. Kabinburi

August 31, 2018   |   Praveen Shaju   |   Aeronautics Department, Faculty of Business Administration News, Spotlight News,

Sriracha Aviation Co. Ltd. is Thailand’s premier airfield and services facility with full Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Accreditation based on International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standards. Situated within the sprawling grounds of Saha Group Industrial Park, Kabinburi, this private airfield meets all the requirements of the Aviation Industry.

Sriracha is a fully accredited flight school, under the tutelage of experienced certified flight instructors from the Royal Thai AirForce. It has a Cessna 172 and Diamond DA42 Simulator. It also has a sheltered hanger with all the maintenance facilities.

On August 31st, 2018, the 2nd year Aeronautics students along with the four lecturers of the Department and a college staff left to Sriracha Aviation by 8.30 am. We reached the Flight School by 10.30 am. The Head of the Ground Training School and some instructors welcomed us. Mr. Prayong, the Head of the Ground Training School gave us a brief note about the Flight School and the facilities available there in the campus. After the brief lecture, we were separated into 4 groups and each group was headed by a Pilot. We were taken to the Maintenance hanger, the ATC tower, the Apron and the Simulator. They explained patiently about the working procedure of all the areas. In the maintenance hanger, we could co-relate the topics which we have learnt in the Aircraft Structures subject. We were also able to learn much about the Aerodrome Subject.

The afternoon session was much more interesting. We were taught about the simulators by the instructors. Each one of us was given time to use the simulator. We had a great time in knowing the usage of various systems which we have learnt in the class room. This visit helped us to expand our understanding in terms of the practical application of the classroom knowledge. Finally we left the flight school by 3.30 pm and reached STIC by 5.00 pm.

To put everything together, I would say that this visit was very fruitful as we could see most of the things which we have learnt in the classroom.
