Higher Education Standards to be met by the Program

Bachelor Degree Program

1. Number of Instructors Responsible for a Curriculum.

Performance

The Bachelor of Science in the Aeronautics Program was approved in 27th January 2016 and was started in the year 2017.

In the year 2020, the Program planned to go ahead with the revision of the curriculum. As a result, numerous meetings were held with the external and internal stakeholders in order to update the curriculum with respect to the industry needs. Finally, on 10th February 2021, the curriculum was revised and approved by the OHEC.

There are five instructors in the Program. Their names are as follows:

  2. Mr. Loganathan Hariramakrishnan
  3. Mr. Sekar Saran Kumar
  4. Mr. Govindan Mari Prabu
  5. Sub.Lt. Capt. Harryvong Kuptavanich

Performance

There are 5 instructors responsible for the program with master’s degrees and each of them had produced Research in the past 5 years

4. Qualifications of Teaching Instructors

Performance

Instructors are the same faculty members who are in charge of the curriculum. There are also lecturers from other programs who teach AR students, the required subjects like vector calculus in aviation, statistical analysis in aviation, airline industrial cross-cultural communication, etc.,

5. Curriculum development or revision

Performance

The Program was started in the year 2017 and the first revision of the curriculum took place in 2021. During the revision process, Aviation industry experts and Aviation Academic Experts were invited for the discussion. Also, the suggestions from the employers and alumni were  taken into account for the development of the curriculum. with respect to industrial needs.

Purpose of the Improvement

Based on the internal and external stakeholders, three new professional groups i.e. the flying group, another aviation group, and the aviation English group were introduced into the program. The main purpose of this segregation is to give wider career opportunities to the students who graduated from this program thereby attending the needs of the aviation industry.
