AUN-QA Criterion 7 – Facilities and Infrastructure

For AUN-QA, criteria 1 to 9 are assessed at 7 levels.

Performance

1. The physical resources and facilities are sufficient.

In order to facilitate and good classroom environment, BACC Offered sufficient physical resources and facilities. 

Classrooms: Our Classrooms are well-equipped for delivering accounting courses. There are seating arrangements with chairs, tables, whiteboards, or screens for presentations and access to audiovisual equipment.

Computer Labs:

Accounting Students often require to work with accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial tools. Access to computer labs with up-to-date hardware and software is essential for practical learning and assignments. And STIC has a dedicated computer lab in which they can practice and attend the Seminar class with the permission of the Administration.

Library and Study Spaces:

STIC has An extensive library with a wide range of accounting books, journals, and research materials which are valuable for students pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy. Additionally, designated study spaces or group study rooms also facilitate collaborative learning.

2. The up-to-date laboratories and equipment are readily available and effectively deployed.

The Information Technology Deaprtment has prepared a computer lab at the main building, and tech to support the teaching and learning management of all the classrooms and equipment. Support for teaching and learning management is sufficient for learning management.

3. A digital library is set-up, up in keeping with progress in information and communication technology.

STIC Library contains books, textbooks, journals electronic media publications, self learning center, Internet services with continuous WIFI Facilities.

Any one wish to visit library must need to keyin thier ID number fo rsign in and sign out from the library ans librarian can track the record in digital form. 

To use the services of the College’s library, users can search the learning material by typing the book’s name or any reference numbers which makes easier to the students or lecturers of faculty members to find any resources withing a short period.

The library is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.  and Saturday 8am – 12.00pm.

4. The information technology systems are set up to meet the needs of staff and students.

The program, along with the College IT Office, has improved the Internet signal network system covering more than 90 percent in the college building area, student dormitories, cafeterias. Moreover, there is an established IT system to meet the needs of personnel and students by increasing communication with different internal stakeholders through various channels such as Distance learning system such as 

  • LMS distance learning system
  • Google classroom etc.

College also provides e-registration system and STIC email addresses for all faculty members and students.

5. The university provides a highly accessible computer and network to the campus community.

Our curriculum in conjunction with the college has provided a computer LAB room to support teaching and learning and TOEIC English Test for students to achieve required TOEIC score by the end of study.

The teaching and learning area has an internet network system covering every class; students and faculty members can access by themselves via Free Wifi enabling them to efficiently study and search knowledge from learning resources on the Internet.

6. The environmental, health and safety standards are defined and implemented.

The College has designed the building according to the Act.

The collge has taken environmental measures such as sorting waste by type, planting and taking care of different plant etc. providing designated eating areas, maintaining cleaning room etc. Public health measures include providing designated eating areas, and clean drinking water both in the school building and the cafeteria.

During the epidemic, COVID- 19 extra health and safety measures were taken such as checking the temperature before entering the college, alcohol gel for cleaning hands at different service points and strict cleaning rota. CCTV cameras and alarms are installed at various points to ensure safety of the students and personnel.

7. The university provides a physical, social, and psychological environment that is conducive to education, research, and personal well-being.

Creating a physical, social, and psychological environment that is conducive to education, research, and personal well-being is essential for the College  to foster a positive learning experience for students, support faculty research endeavors, and promote the overall well-being of the university community.

The program, together with the college, maintains healthy physical as well psychological environment such as shady and Gardenning all over the campus, recreational facilities like lakes, golf course etc.

The dormitory in the college provides sports facilities , including football fields, volleyball courts and fitness rooms.

In addition, the library has arranged private research zones, research rooms, group study rooms etc.

The physical environment of the college is designed to be accessible to all individuals.  Adequate safety measures, such as well-maintained pathways, emergency exits, lighting, and security systems, are provided for the well-being of students and staff. 

8. The competencies of the support staff rendering services related to facilities are identified to ensure efficient services.

Identifying and hiring support staff with these competencies, providing training and professional development opportunities, and establishing clear performance expectations contribute to efficient facility-related services in a college setting.

To ensure efficient services related to facilities, it is important to identify the competencies of the support staff responsible for providing those services. The program clarifies its role in Faculty of Business Administration personnel management system, it includes procedure for recruitment and job description of support personnel in order to acquire qualified personnel.

Facility-related roles often require quick thinking and problem-solving abilities. Our Supporting staff are able to identify and resolve issues related to maintenance, repairs, and other facility-related concerns efficiently.

Our Supporting Staffs are good in communication which is essential to interact with college staff, faculty, students, and external vendors or contractors. Effective communication helps in understanding facility-related needs, addressing concerns, coordinating work, and providing clear instructions or guidance.

Our Support staff have strong organizational skills to manage facility-related tasks effectively. They always follow thier schedule, maintenance activities, keeping records of work orders, managing inventory, and prioritizing tasks to ensure smooth operations.

9. The quality of the facilities is evaluated and improved.

Each year, a survey regarding the facilities was obtained from both the Instructor and the students. The main purpose of this survey is to identify the gaps for further improvement.

10. Learning resources are aligned to digital social context.

Aligning learning resources to the digital social context in a college involves integrating digital technologies and leveraging social media platforms to enhance the educational experience.

Digital Content:

Providing digital learning resources such as e-books, online articles, videos, and interactive modules can cater to the preferences and habits of digitally-connected students. These resources should be accessible through various devices, ensuring flexibility and convenience.

Learning Management Systems (LMS):

Utilizing an LMS enables the Collese, delivery, and tracking of digital learning resources. LMS platforms also includes features like discussion forums, chat functionalities, and collaborative tools that support social interactions among students and instructor.

The TOEIC tests for students are carried out in LMS. This is to give the students the same scenario as the real exam. During the pandemic, even the mid-term and final exams were conducted through LMS.

Social Media Integration:

Leveraging social media platforms, such as Facebook groups, Line Gorups, Twitter chats, or LinkedIn Corporate communities also foster a digital social context. These platforms facilitates informal discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities among students, faculty, and even industry professionals.

  1. The lecturers create separate LINE groups / Facebook Groups for each course, in order to communicate with the students regarding subject matters.
  2. The students were also encouraged to contact the instructors especially advisors anytime they are in need.
