Performance

1. Leadership, Governance, and Societal Contribution Results (Organizational Leadership). What are your results of senior leaders’ communication and engagement with the workforce, partners, students, and other Customers?

The Faculty has created different communication approaches – face-to-face and communication technology using email, Facebook, and telephones.

The Dean relies mostly on face-to-face communication because it 1) reduces misunderstands, 2) is quick and more efficient, 3) boosts engagement by creating a sense of community, 4) builds trust, and 5) is more persuasive. Another approach to communication is using communication technology with other groups of customers.

2. Leadership, Governance, and Societal Contribution Results (Organizational Governance). What are your results of governance accountability?

The results of Corporate Governance are obtained from a questionnaire implemented with faculty members and support personnel. The questionnaire, using a Likert scale of 5, is aimed at evaluating the Dean’s performance. The results of the questionnaire are interpreted in relation to different administrative qualities the Dean is supposed to have. These qualities lead the Faculty toward achievement as evidenced by the successful completion of 46 projects, graduate users’ satisfaction, graduates’ employment, current students’ satisfaction toward curriculum and teaching management, current students’ 19 pieces of productive work, the high score of IQA, and the joint program between the Faculty and the University of South Wales.

3. Leadership, Governance, and Societal Contribution Results (Law, Regulation, and Accreditation). What are your legal, regulatory, and accreditation results?

By abiding by rules and regulations, the Faculty has achieved all missions, duties, and responsibilities successfully.

  1. Both curricula, BE and CA, are accredited by the Office of Higher Education Commission.
  2. Students behave in accordance with the code of conduct determined by the College.
  3. Lecturers behave in line with good governance, the College’s code of conduct, and the code of ethical standards.
  4. Plagiarism has never been found in the faculty members’ academic work and research.
  5. Both curricula and the Faculty have passed the quality assessment with a high score.
  6. No illegal conduct has been found among students or faculty members.

4. Leadership, Governance, and Societal Contribution Results (Ethics).  What are your results for ethical behavior?

The Faculty encourages the faculty members and support personnel to behave in the right way by introducing the code of ethical conduct and good governance to be a guideline for them. As a result, over the past two years, there have been no ethical offenders.

5. Leadership, Governance, and Societal Contribution Results (Society). What are your results for societal well-being and the support of your key communities?

By operating 5 projects and collaborating with schools and local communities, the Faculty is assured that positive results have occurred resulting in many advantages including social well-being and community growth in terms of economy, educational development, and local culture, value, and tradition preservation. However, as mentioned earlier that the Faculty has not created specific tools to measure these results.

– Primary-school students develop their English knowledge and positive attitudes to studying the language.

– School teachers learn how to use English activities to enhance students’ knowledge and how to use computer applications to construct lessons.

English Excellence Center

– Primary-school teachers learn how to use English activities from video clips created by the Faculty.

Strong and Sustainable Community

– The community preserves its culture, value, and traditional way of life.

6. The regulatory standard of every program/curriculum in the faculty is assessed with passing criteria.

Both BE and CA programs have successfully passed Component 1 of the curriculum standard with each curriculum having 5 qualified responsible persons as required.

7. The evaluation of 10 principles of good governance management scored higher than 3.51(the full score is 5).

The Dean was evaluated for her management alignment with 10 principles of good governance by the faculty members and support personnel. The result of the overall evaluation on average is 4.54.
