Indicator 4.1 Learning Management (Teaching and Learning Approach)

For criteria 7 and 8, it is assessed using the Office of Permanent Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovations standards.

For AUN-QA, criteria 1 to 6 are assessed at 7 levels.

Performance

1. The educational philosophy is articulated and communicated to all stakeholders

The College Philosophy is focused on students rather than on the contents. The College would like to have learner gain experiences in their future careers and lives. The teaching and learning methods focus on student-centered activities. The teaching and learning in the program is based on the educational philosophy. All course contents are published on the website of the college and faculty and in other official publication materials. Information is delivered and communicated to all stakeholders directly on many occasions.

The program also arranged to collect data and feedback from stakeholders both inside and outside the program about the learning outcomes of current learners, and alumni. Those feedback has been brought to improve the program to catch up with the trends in Education.

2. The students can participate in the learning management process

Since the program has applied student-centered philosophy, learners are allowed to participate in teaching and learning activities and processes, such as making agreements on learning activities, projects, and assignments.

Learners also involve anytime in teaching and learning activities during the course to improve learning outcomes. At the end of the course, learners will evaluate and give feedback about the teaching and learning of the program.

3. The students can participate in the learning activities

The program emphasizes Active Learning in teaching and learning activities rather than only subject matter. This technic is congruent with the learning outcomes of the program which are thinking skills and processes, brainstorming, analysis skills, discussion and debate, project-based learning, and group work. Learners also practice and intern in their teaching at their schools under the supervision of peers, mentors, school administration, and academic staff from the college. Learners are allowed to do some research and serve the community’s needs. They can gain experience from their schools. They definitely develop themselves in terms of professional teaching.

 

4. The students are promoted to be lifelong learners through learning activities

The program encourages learners to have life-long learning, (willingness to experiment with new knowledge and ideas, and practices, skills in searching for information and analyzing data) in order to think to solve problems in schools, bringing in new methods to increase students’ achievement /outcomes. The program also designed to have learners gain more social responsibilities as long as they are in their careers by joining the academic services of the program.

 

5. The students are promoted to be creative thought, innovative, and have an entrepreneurial mindset

The learners of this program are encouraged to have creative and innovative ideas which are the needs of all stakeholders. The innovation may come from the research conducted.

6. The teaching and learning approach is improved continually and aligned with industry requirements and expected learning outcomes

Learning outcomes of the course and program are reviewed and revised according to the stakeholder feedback. The program always monitors and collects the information at a certain period of time during the semester and at the end of the semester through various collecting data tools. Teaching and learning activities are monitored during the semester in order to make sure that learning outcomes of learners will be achieved and met the needs of stakeholders, Teachers Council of Thailand.

The course evaluation and feedback from stakeholders are managed by the program and all data will be used to revise the program.

 

7. The classroom learning management is focused on a student-centered approach

The program engages the philosophy of student-centered education Every course is designed to have teaching and learning activities to serve that philosophy. TOF 3 will compose of contents, teaching and learning activities, and learners’ involvement and appropriate assessment.

 

8. Learning management is managed through various technics of information and communication  technology systems with a student-centered approach

Methods in Information and Communication Technology systems are to help supports teaching and learning. ICT use was increased in teaching and learning activities during the pandemic COVID-19. The program has applied many digital technology applications to serve the learners and academic staff such as Google Classroom, Zoom application, Google Meet, etc. Learners had many alternatives to access teaching and learning activities.
