Indicator 5.1 Assessment (Student Assessment)

For criteria 8 and 9, it is assessed using the Office of Permanent Secretary of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovations standards.

For AUN-QA, criteria 1 to 7 are assessed at 7 levels.

Performance

1. Assessments are aligned with objectives and expected learning outcomes

A variety of assessment tools are brought to assess learners starting from the very first process and continuing until the graduation times of learners. Interview, Observation, Formative examination, Summative examination, Project–based oriented, and group working activities are tools to use in assessing learning outcomes. Methods are chosen by the academic staff and included in the TQF3 of the course to ensure that the results will come out appropriately. Learners will be informed in class about assessment criteria and assessment tools.

2. The assessment and assessment-appeal policies are clearly stated

The college  has set up the appeal policy and procedures which learners can access through the website of the college and the faculty and college publications and student manual or student handbook.

3. The assessment standards and procedures for student progression and degree completion are clearly stated and communicated.

The program has listed and offered all courses that the learners have to study each semester. Learners also Write their own plan of study if they need to register for more interesting courses. The program will monitor and check the progress of learners every semester. The program will bring information into the meeting to help solve problems in case some issues need to be solved. Each course set up the assessment and evaluation plan in compliance with the measurement and evaluation rules and regulations of the college. Assessment standards are applied to every program in the college and communicated to every learner and indicated in course syllabus.

4. The assessment methods include rubrics, marking schemes, timelines, and regulations, and these are ensured validity, reliability, and fairness in the assessment

The assessments used in the program are identified in the program manual, and student handbook. Every assessment tool is validated by the assessment experts. Those tools are also developed based on moral and ethical concepts, measurement and evaluation theory concepts.

5. The assessment methods are shown to measure the achievement of the expected learning outcomes of the program and its courses.

Learning outcomes in each course are formulated and aligned to the objectives of the program. Assessment tools are planned to assess the evidence of the student performance that archives the learning outcomes.

6. Feedback on student assessment is provided in a timely manner

The program provides the feedback of course assessment in an appropriate time manner to learners or stakeholders. The feedback gives suggestions and recommendations for learners’ development or improvement as well.

7. The student assessment is continuously reviewed and improved to ensure their relevance to the needs of the industry and alignment with the expected learning outcomes

The program will consider changing assessment tools that are not appropriate to measure the learning outcomes.

8. Students’ learning outcomes assessment and learning development are performed

The program has called meetings from time to time to follow up or monitor the learning outcomes of learners in the program. The program verified learning outcomes using various tools such as in-depth interview focus group interviews.

9. Students’ learning outcomes assessment is performed as stated in the program/curriculum

The program has monitored and checked the learning outcomes of students from every course through TQF3,4 and TQF5,6 reports. The program reviews the learning outcomes that have matched to the expected learning outcomes (Objectives) of the program stated in  TQF2.
